Upright or east-west
Pointed north to south, an oval adds length near the jaw and covers more lobe per carat than a round. Turned east-west, it sits wide and modern along the lobe. The bar drop lines up several ovals side by side, so the shape repeats as the earring moves.
Studs, halos and side pavé
