Ribbon, rope or crossover

- Beaded or rope twist: a textured band that catches light along its length.
- Crossover and split shank: strands part and meet again under the center.
Plain or pavé strands
A twisted gold and diamond ring alternates a polished strand with a row of small stones, which makes the spiral obvious even at arm's length. All-metal twists put the gold color forward and need less upkeep. Some designs add a halo or side stones at the head.
