Where the halo sits
Most designs circle only the center, so it appears larger while the side stones stay crisp. A few give each side stone its own frame, creating a broader, more glittering face. Scalloped, milgrain and sectioned halos add a vintage edge.

Choosing the metal
Settings come in white, yellow and rose gold (10K, 14K or 18K), platinum, and Silvadium, a sterling silver made to resist tarnish. Platinum is dense and holds tiny halo prongs well over time. Silver is the gentlest on the budget yet bends more easily, so it fits a lighter routine. White metals let a halo blend with the center.
