One rim, no prongs.
Instead of prongs, a continuous bezel of yellow gold circles an elongated old mine cushion-cut center, chosen in the next step, which lies lengthwise along the finger. From the front, you can see an open gallery under the rim that lets light in from below. Nothing else is set on the ring: the shank is a smooth, high-polish band with a gently curved outer face.
