How far the stones go
Across the top, most designs carry lab-grown diamonds in pavé or a channel. Some are half eternity bands, with stones around the front half only, and a full eternity version circles the finger completely; since stones fill the whole shank, changing its size means remaking it. Total weights run from about a quarter carat to three-quarters of a carat on most designs.
Engraving that lasts
The engraved sides are part of the design, cut in deeper than a light surface finish. Deep carving holds its shape for years, while fine milgrain beads soften slowly over years of wear.
Cleaning carved silver
Tarnish settles first in the grooves, which actually sharpens the pattern. If you prefer it bright, work a soft toothbrush dipped in mild suds into the sides, then dry and buff with a silver cloth. Store the band apart from harder rings to protect the carving.
